As a Senior UX Lead at Walmart, I transformed the store fulfillment product from a developer-centric tool into a scalable, user-centered solution. My initial challenge was leading a small, two-person team to tackle outdated workflows and a non-user-friendly app.
I focused on mentorship and drove the adoption of a formal Figma design system, the first of its kind for our product, which introduced reusable components that drastically accelerated our workflows and ensured design consistency.
My team redesigned the core picking process and every other module, optimizing workflows that led to a more efficient and satisfying experience for store associates. I also spearheaded a complex transition from company-issued devices to personal smartphones, ensuring a seamless experience across various screen sizes and hardware. My team even went beyond traditional methods, monitoring online forums and implementing creative remote user testing to overhaul the app's notification system.
